Pegasus Theater Company Presents "The Oldest Profession" by Paula Vogel
"The Oldest Profession" is one of those rare plays that feature exclusively older women in smart, funny and sexy roles. The five characters, who range in age from 65 to 80, are prostitutes who got their start in the bordellos of Storyville in New Orleans. As they reveal their humanity, the tight bond of their friendship, and their still very sensual selves, we realize how shallow the stereotypes are that would define us by how old we are or what we do for a living. It is a play with music featuring toe-tapping burlesque hall songs sung to honky tonk piano.
